The development of supramolecular chemistry and the assembly of functional molecular architectures represents an emerging field within advanced materials science, although limitations remain in understanding the key factors driving its scientific and technological consolidation. The aim of this study was to analyze the evolution of supramolecular chemistry and its impact on the formation of functional molecular architectures during the period 2021–2023. A quantitative, non-experimental design was applied, based on secondary data from international organizations such as UNESCO, OECD, WIPO, and IUPAC, as well as scientific databases including Scopus, Web of Science, and SciELO. Advanced statistical techniques such as principal component analysis, multinomial logistic regression, and hierarchical cluster analysis were employed. The results showed a sustained growth in scientific publications and patents, a strong technological concentration in industrialized countries, and identified scientific investment, molecular stability, and self-assembly capacity as key determinants in the development of these architectures. Main applications are concentrated in nanomedicine, smart sensors, molecular catalysis, and energy storage, highlighting their strong technological potential, although limitations remain regarding synthesis costs and industrial scalability.
